Our Safety Standards

ABC follows comprehensive safety standards that meet or exceed international industry requirements. All challenge courses we build are certified by the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) and the Professional Rope Course Association (PRCA).

Design & Engineering Standards

All ABC challenge course designs are engineered to meet structural load requirements with appropriate safety factors. We use professional-grade materials and hardware specified for challenge course applications, and every design undergoes independent engineering review before construction begins.

Operational Safety Protocols

We develop detailed operational procedures for every course element, including participant briefing protocols, belay system management, weather guidelines, and emergency action plans.

Equipment Standards

All equipment used on ABC courses — including harnesses, helmets, carabiners, ropes, and belay devices — meets or exceeds applicable ANSI, EN, and UIAA standards.

Inspection Processes

Regular inspections are critical to maintaining a safe challenge course. ABC provides thorough inspection services at multiple levels to ensure ongoing structural integrity and operational readiness.

Pre-Use Inspections

Before each operating day, trained staff conduct visual and functional checks of all course elements, connections, and safety equipment.

Periodic Inspections

ABC performs scheduled periodic inspections that include detailed examination of structural components, hardware, cables, and anchoring systems, following documented checklists and producing written reports with maintenance recommendations.

Annual Professional Inspections

We recommend and provide annual professional inspections conducted by qualified inspectors, evaluating the entire course system against current ACCT and PRCA standards.

ABC is a Level 2 member of ACCT, the leading international organization dedicated to challenge course standards. Our founder was the first in Hong Kong to obtain ACCT standard training qualifications in 1998.
